Hi all! If you were in my 1-2 W section (that ended an hour ago), I made a dumb (two, actually) on the particle filtering question. Here are the corrections: 1) I forgot to mention in section, but I used a different worksheet in section this week since the standard one did not cover HMM. I stole it from last Spring- you can find the worksheet (blank and with solutions) on our section site: http://sniyaz.weebly.com/cs188.html 2) I made two small errors (but these are still important!!!) on the particle filtering question. On Part 2, I normalized the weights correctly but drew the end of the interval at 1.4 for some reason (instead of 1). Sorry about that. To be clear, P1 in that problem owned the interval from 0 to 0.9/1.4. P2 owned 0.9/1.4 to 1. Not 1.4. Derp. 3) On Part 5, I drew the arrows for the random samples to P1's region. This was incorrect. Both actually go to P2's region (since P2 owns 0.5 to 1, and the random samples are both larger than 0.5). The incorrect arrows were out of habit- sorry about that! Note that in this case we would always sample both particles as going to state 0, since both P1 and P2 are at state 0. No matter which is picked, the end effect is the same. Sorry about these errors. If they confused you, shoot me an email and I will be more than happy to meet outside class and clear up any confusion. Best, Sherdil
